HALLOWEEN 2007

Our pumpkins have been carved. Here are a few photos of that evolution. :-)

PUMPKINS ARE DONE!

Dee and I finished carving our pumpkins. Photos to follow soon!

EQUAL TIME

I had lunch with my bride today and she wanted to know why I had not posted her pumpkin pattern in my blog. So in the interest of equal time, to the right is Dee's "Scary Tree" pattern. Tonight, we will be carving our pumpkins!

HALLOWEEN 2005

I was poking around my computer and found a few photos from Halloween 2005. You can see our pumpkins, as well as our friend Deb who helped us hand out candy to the ghosts and goblins inhabiting our community that night.

Halloween is upon us!

Not only is Fall my favorite time of the year, but we also get to celebrate Halloween, which is one of my favorite events during the year. I so enjoy seeing kids in costume trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!

I am going to carve a pirate skull pattern this year. Photos of the finished product to follow.

WE RAN OUT OF ROOM FOR THE LEAVES...

Well, Deirdre and I spent the better part of an hour raking our leaves and we ran out of room in the street to deposit the leaves! I think that we are trend setters, however I fired up my leaf blower and a few minutes later two of our nearby neighbors started up their leaf blowers, too! Deirdre did a masterful job of raking out the leaves from our back patio, as well as by the side of the house. The sad thing is that in a few hours, it will look like we had not done a thing. I suppose that if the city of EGR picks up our leaves tomorrow, that I will be back at leaf raking again before Halloween.

FALL LEAVES

It has been a strange Fall here in the Enchanted Mitten. It was unseasonably warm in September and this warm weather has followed us into October. Usually, by this time of year most of the leaves are off the trees and are on the ground. However, the opposite is true this year. So far this season, I have cleared the leaves from our front yard once. Later today, I will strap on my nuclear powered back pack leaf blower and clear the front and the back yard. As the wife told me this morning, "Paul, you and I are going to be busy today!."

FIRST POST

It is high time I started a blog. I spend a lot of time on line, mostly reading news stories and reading my friend's blogs. After see the wife's blog, I decided that I should get in the game and start my own blog. Thus, my blog, titled East of the Equator, is born. The cool thing about being east of the Equator is that here, it is always a quarter past 5PM!
