SO IS THIS WHAT IT IS REALLY LIKE?
I promised Deirdre that I would not even think about looking for a job until after the first of the year. To be honest, I have been a little bored the past few months, and I have been looking forward to hunting for my first post-Navy job. Deirdre, being the job maven that she is, found a position working for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), which is a sub-agency of the Department of Defense. The job is a contract quality assurance specialist, but the cool thing is that the job is located right here in Grand Rapids. Well, I applied on line for the position and now I am just waiting to hear back from the interviewing agency to see if I even made the first cut.
As luck would have it, Dee found another job this morning for me that looks just as interesting as the DCMA. The position is for a "Supervisory Program Analyst." I am thinking about applying for this job, too. One of the benefits of being married to not only a weather nerd, but also a Human Resource specialist, is that she is a tremendous amount of help to me as I begin my transition to my next career.

You could always go be a landscape technician at Calvin...
If you get a real, paying gig, who will drive Ms. Deirdre to and from work?
